SOUND OF PORTLAND

Date: June 2026

Location: Isle of Portland, UK

Landscapes are continuously shaped by forces that often remain invisible to us – wind, erosion, tides, geological shifts, and historical change.

How architecture can act as a tool to make these hidden environmental conditions perceptible across the site and its history.

The project proposes a stone chamber at Portland Bill: a building that gathers the hidden forces and histories of Portland into its construcRon. It becomes a place where the landscape is not only seen but also sensed, heard, and understood through the body.
